Lifesong Church is a brand new church. We have a small launch team that has been meeting since October of 2006. Our group is made up of people from various parts of the Birmingham area with various denominational and church backgrounds. Although our backgrounds are different, we are committed to be a church that models the example of God’s church in the New Testament, with the Bible as the central element of all we are about.
We currently meet in the Letson Farms subdivision off of exit one on I-459, just south of Birmingham in my house. Sunday morning services begin at 10:30am. Letson Farms is across the street from McAdory High School. The address is 5309 Letson Farms Cove. (DIRECTIONS)
We are planting this church with a few strong convictions:
- to be led by a plurality of leaders – not by a single individual
- to be multicultural – reaching across racial boundaries
- to be Biblical – not based on tradition but the Word of God
- to be outward focused – meeting needs in our surrounding area
We begin this church with a specific burden for the Jonesboro community, found about 2.5 miles down Eastern Valley Road from Letson Farms. This area has a long and great history, but has grown into a very challenged area with many opportunities for ministry.

About Gary:
Gary is founder of Fish The Planet, a non-profit evangelistic ministry. Through Fish The Planet, Gary has traveled the United States leading worship and speaking for literally hundreds of different Christian events: crusades, revivals, retreats, camps, and concerts.
Gary was ordained into the Gospel ministry by the First Baptist Church of Trussville in November of 1995.
Gary has been in Christian ministry going on fifteen years. He traveled itinerantly up until 2002, where he came off the road to be the full-time Worship Pastor at ClearBranch, a contemporary church on the north side of Birmingham. At ClearBranch, Gary met Stephanie, and they were married in August of 2003. They have two children, Amelia – who is three years old, and Noah – who is one year old. They also have a pooch named Mambo.
Gary has recently begun his first “real” job accepting an offer to be a part of the the leadership training program with Regions Financial Corporation. He is currently the Branch Manager for the Oxmoor Valley Office located in Homewood, Alabama.
Gary’s first book, Worship Awakening – An Urgent Message for the Dying American Church, released in August of 2007. It is published in partnership with Fish The Planet, Long’s Electronics, and WinePress Publishing.
